Bargain of the Week: Campfires

My one surefire trigger for summer nostalgia? Campfires!

The smells and the sounds, typically accompanied by good food and great stories are the reasons why campfires are one of my favorite things, ever. In college, I even chose campfires as the subject for a 10-minute long speech.

Another great aspect of campfires…they’re relatively cheap yet provide hours of warmth, cooking and entertainment!

In case you were wondering, Peeps are superior to regular marshmallows because of the exterior sugar coating, which becomes perfectly caramelized. Perfection.

Les Miserables

My Mom, sisters and I saw Les Miserables at a local theater last weekend.

The only word close enough to be sufficient to describe it? Captivating.

There is nothing like seeing a musical in person. The movie is great and the music is incredible, but to witness this play in person is a privilege. If you have the chance, I highly recommend seeing Les Mis at any local theater or even a school. It’s that good.

Footloose Zumba

Gosh darn it, who doesn’t love “Footloose” and Zumba? The perfect combination of a cheesy song and ridiculous dance moves.

Bargain of the Week: Automating Discounts

I’d like to share a fantastic article I read last week on lifehacker: How to Automate Your Discounts and Always Get the Best Price.

Everyone likes to save money, but few people (myself included) are willing to put in hours to do research for the lowest price across the web and retail stores. Enter Invisible Hand. It’s a super useful browser extension that automatically alerts you to the lowest price of an item. So, anytime you’re online shopping, a green bar will appear at the top of the window giving you the lowest price! So easy!

I love the tip to create an email account specifically for coupons and store alerts. Genius.

The last sentence of this article is also perfect: “If you look at auto-couponing as something that provides you with that freedom, you’ll never feel overwhelmed by your own frugality.”

A Disney Sing-Along Sequel

I stumbled across this video on Pinterest and I’m so glad I did! I saw this video and then watched a bunch of his other videos, and if you like Broadway or Disney, giggling and facial expressions (and bushy eyebrows), you’ll love these.

By far, the best part of this video is at :35 seconds when he lip syncs to Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove. Love me some Yzma.
